End Dump Charger System
Characteristics:
- System is capable of handling up to six charges per hour using ingot or scrap delivered by charge bucket.
- Cycle time for bucket ascent, dump, and descent is approximately one minute.
- Includes 3 HP hydraulic power pack with lift cylinders, valving, and piping; comes completely assembled.
- Nonflammable fluid is used throughout the system.
- Charger access gate is interlocked by a limit switch as an additional safety feature to prevent charger operation when gate is open.
- Charger controls include a stockline indicator to prevent Jet Melter overcharging.
Sequence of Operations:
- Operator places the charge materials (ingots & scrap) into the charge bucket through the open top.
- Operator initiates charge cycle and PLC verifies, via photo eye sensor, there is adequate room in the stack.
- The loaded bucket proceeds up the track.
- The stack cover opens automatically and melting burners go to Low fire.
- The upper terminal limit switch verifies that the cover has fully opened, stops the bucket's upward movement, and starts the tilting operation, depositing the charge material the furnace shaft.
- After a short delay at the top, the empty bucket will automatically return to the bottom position and the stack cover will close.
- The melting burners return to high fire and continue to melt.
